Virtual Desktop routers for wireless PCVR
Router guidance for a reliable wireless PCVR connection on Quest.
A dedicated router or access point for the headset is usually the most predictable wireless PCVR setup. The final directory will separate officially recommended models from hardware that is merely assumed to work.
The Virtual Desktop team has specifically warned that some TP-Link AX, Huawei and Tenda routers can exhibit unidentified problems. Higher-end models not on its recommended list may work, but should still be treated as untested. Similar product names can also refer to different hardware—for example, an Archer model is not necessarily equivalent to a Deco model with the same advertised Wi-Fi class.
The router table will include Wi-Fi generation, intended use, regional links and whether I have personally tested the model.
